Pokemon GO players have been treated to an eventful year, partially due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions around the world. Pokemon Trainers have been benefitting from passive bonuses since earlier in the summer, and it seems there’s a new handful of freebies they’ll be able to close out the year with.

Like most other mobile free-to-start games, Pokemon GO occasionally gifts players bonus items, especially when events are happening. That said, Niantic is generally a bit more selective when it comes to promo codes.

Whereas some games, like the newer hit Genshin Impact, are known for dishing out promo codes regularly, that is not usually the case with Pokemon GO. Promo codes in this game are rather sporadic, and generally reserved for special promotions and customer service tickets.

Despite this, Niantic recently unveiled two promo codes that work for all Pokemon GO players, both redeemable for some time. One of the two promos is a sponsored Pokemon GO collaboration with Verizon, while the other is more of an adventuring gift from Niantic with in-game rewards one might expect. The Verizon code was initially a special promotion for select customers, but players were eventually given a code that is redeemable by all.

Players can receive a set of two Verizon-themed cosmetics for entering the corresponding code, whereas the other will grant players items including 10 Max Revives and a sum of Ultra Balls. The two codes, and their rewards, are as follows:

  • TRFJVYZVVV8R4 - 30 Ultra Balls, 10 Max Revives, Lucky Egg (Code expires on January 1, 2021)
  • LRQEV2VZ59UDA - Verizon Jacket and Verizon Mask avatar items (Code expires on December 31, 2021)

There's a large discrepancy in expiration dates, so players should take note and enter their codes accordingly. While the code that rewards a rare Lucky Egg will expire on January 1, 2021, the Verizon code will remain available until December 31, 2021. Players have nearly a full year to claim their Verizon gear, if they're feeling undecided for some reason.

Ultra Balls are always handy in case of a rare encounter, and Max Revives should help any Trainers hoping to take on challenges like Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff. Although it's only one, a Lucky Egg can make all the difference when trying to gain XP as fast as possible, so players aiming for that Level 40 Legacy Challenge will want to be sure they've redeemed their codes before it's too late.

Pokemon GO is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
