The final weeks of January 2022's event calendar are approaching and it is time for Pokemon GO trainers to unlock the final mechanism of the door that this season’s story has been pushing them towards. In terms of gameplay, that means a big, exciting event is about to be underway.

The Pokemon GO Power Plant event includes the exciting debut of a new Pokemon and its evolution along with some other awesome bonuses and features. Players will be able to enjoy increased spawns of various Electric-type Pokemon as they race around their communities completing Field Research and enjoying the event bonuses.

Interestingly, there is still some mystery around exactly what the second half of the event is going to bring. The “A Bad Feeling…” bonuses won’t kick in until January 24, but even after that there may be some additional surprises that are coming throughout the final week of January between the event wraps up on February 1, 2022. In this event inspired by the power plants found in the Kanto and Kalos regions, you’ll be able to catch Pokémon like Magnemite, Voltorb, and Helioptile!In the shadows, it seems that a nefarious force has also caught wind of the door and the power that lies beyond it…

Pokemon Debuts

Helioptile and Heliolisk make their debuts in Pokémon GO!

Helioptile can evolve into Heliolisk with 50 Helioptile Candy and a Sun Stone.

Increased Wild Spawns

The following Pokémon will be available to encounter in the wild.

  • Magnemite
  • Grimer
  • Voltorb
  • Electabuzz
  • Porygon
  • Trubbish
  • Helioptile

If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following.

  • Electrode
  • Jolteon

A Bad Feeling…

Beginning Monday, January 24, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. local time. As Spark proceeds with his investigation, he begins to have a creeping feeling that something unexpected is going to happen.

  • Team GO Rocket will be appearing more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
  • You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

It sounds like the second half of the month is going to bring some very exciting opportunities for trainers to get out and start battling Team GO Rocket once again (both in balloons and at Pokestops). This means that players should prepare their battle rosters and get ready for battle over the next week or two. As for what comes later in the month as February 1 approaches, trainers are just going to have to wait a little longer to find out.
