Part 2 of Pokemon GO's Holiday Event will feature all of Eevee's evolutions wearing festive costumes and joining the pool of Pokemon featured during Part 1. Other additions for Part 2 will include a new Time Research pathway and a special Raid Day for a regional Ice-type Pokemon.

Niantic splits up its events around major holidays into 2 parts, featuring slight variations to Pokemon spawns and field research rewards, making a drawn-out celebratory event period feel more unique. For Part 1 of the 2022 Pokemon GO Holiday Event, spawns of base form Ice-type Pokemon like Snorunt, Bergmite, and Cubchoo appeared more frequently. In Part 2, it's time to invite the evolutions to the holiday party as the Eeveelutions and Cubchoo's evolution Beartic will wear holiday costumes and join in on the Holiday cheer.

Part 2 of the Holiday Event begins on December 23 at 10 AM local time when Eevee and Cubchoo wearing holiday costumes will join the other event spawns as part of the celebrations. These Pokemon will also be able to evolve and keep their costumes, a change in Nianitc's ways as some costumed Pokemon, like Spheal for this event, could not be evolved. These evolved Pokemon will not be wild spawns and must be evolved after catching. The shinies for Eevee and Cubchoo will also be available, making this an extra special incentive event for collectors.

An event-themed collection challenge which may include evolving event Pokemon and a new Timed Research will also become available to Pokemon GO players on December 23. The Timed Research, which must be completed by the end of the event on December 31, will give players the option to choose a gift with reward items, a Galarian Mr. Mime encounter, and other winter-themed Pokemon.

Many of Part 1 Holiday event spawns, field research tasks, bonuses like expanded gift inventories to aid in finding Vivillon, and 7km egg allotments will return for Part 2. Kyruem will replace Coballion as the 5-star raid Pokemon. On December 24, there will be a special Raid Day for Hisuian Avalugg, the evolved form of Bergmite. The Raid Day will run from 2-5 PM local time with an increased frequency of Hisuian Avalugg raids, 5 free raid passes for spinning the first 5 gym photo discs during the event, and an increased likelihood of finding a shiny Hisuian Avalugg. It will also know a special move "Glaciate" for the event.

Niantic is hoping that friends and family gathered for the holidays will get a chance to play Pokemon GO together, trading gifts and Pokemon. Whether they explore their neighborhoods while caroling, trudging through the shopping centers for last-minute presents, or exploring the parks and their seasonal decorations, Pokemon GO is matching the spirit of the season.
