After a few months of stagnant Research Breakthrough Rewards, Pokemon GO players are going to be very excited to hear that a new rotation is arrives today, November 1, 2019. Although a few of the options have been around plenty of times already, the other two encounters are much more exciting than the current rotation for a lot of trainers.

With flower crown Eevee out of the way, Pokemon GO trainers will also be able to earn Research Breakthrough Reward encounters with a batch of powerful Legendary creatures once again. Most of these Pokemon are incredibly important to the PvE metagame and even players who already have powerful versions of them will be happy to have the extra candy.

The September/October Research Breakthrough Rewards are officially retired, which means it's time for players to start cashing in those stamps for another opportunity to encounter the gen 1 Legendary birds or the powerful Groudon/Kyogre pair.

"We’re excited to share a few changes to Field Research rewards starting soon!

Field Research Updates

From November 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to January 1, 2020, at 1 p.m. PST (GMT −8), the following Pokémon will be available as Research Breakthrough encounters: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Kyogre, Groudon!

Time to head outside and see what amazing Pokémon you’ll encounter! Let’s GO!"

Although Research Breakthroughs are usually popular, it seems like this batch will be even more likely to motivate trainers to keep up those streaks and complete Field Research on a daily basis (it may even distract players from collecting the most powerful Unova region Pokemon). To earn the special research breakthrough encounters, players just need to earn 7 stamps, by completing regular field research tasks that are collected from Pokestops.
