With the addition of Gen 4 Pokemon to Niantic's popular mobile ARG, Pokemon GO, many have been forced into waiting for their favorite Pokemon to be added. Now, we know a new wave of gen 4 Pokemon is inbound, thanks to the official Spanish Pokemon GO Twitter account, which could very well bring some fan-favorite Sinnoh Pokemon into the fold. Considering some sprites for Yanmega, Tangrowth, and more were recently leaked, it may be some new gen 4 cross-gen evolutions.

Sadly, an exact time frame wasn't revealed, but many have postulated that it could be as early as today, December 11, 2018, because an iOS update for Pokemon GO is set to roll out sometime today. Others think it could be referring to the forthcoming winter event, but until Niantic rolls out this new wave, there's no way to know. Check out the official teaser below:

Here's a rough translation:

2018 has been the year of the great explosion of the Pokédex. Trainers were able to find Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions. Something tells us that soon you will add more copies to your Sinnoh Pokédex ...

If this Pokemon GO tease is, in fact, tied to the upcoming winter event, then fans are hoping for some new Gen 4 Water- and Ice-types. It's worth mentioning that the attached video showcases Mamoswine and Glaceon, so this definitely seems like it is in the realm of possibility. After all, 2017's winter event saw the addition of the following: 20 new Gen 3 Water- and Ice-types, Santa Hat Pikachu, free incubators, special boxes, and more.

At the end of the day, though, we simply have to wait and see what Niantic has up its sleeves. Any of the aforementioned speculations could be true, or none of them at all. What we can say is that Pokemon GO fans should be prepared for some awesome events in the coming weeks; after the winter event, for example, January will be hosting a Community Day that could very well see Totodile as the featured Pokemon.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
