The conclusion of the Detective Pikachu event in Pokemon GO saw the release of some more Gen 4 Pokemon to the game. Niantic has not only added new Gen 4 Pokemon to the wild, but it has also made it possible to expand one's Gen 4 Pokemon collection through evolving certain Pokemon as well.

Getting some of the new Gen 4 Pokemon through evolution requires players to use the brand new Lure Modules. However, other Pokemon will simply be found in the wild, and others still just need candy to evolve. With all of this to keep in mind, one can't be blamed if they are having trouble keeping track of all the new Pokemon Niantic added to Pokemon GO in the latest update, so we've compiled them here with info on how to obtain each one.

Here are all the new Pokemon released in Pokemon GO in the game's May 2019 update.

New Wild Pokemon

  • Cherubi
  • Gible
  • Gabite
  • Burmy (Female)
  • Burmy (Male)
  • Shellos
  • Hippopotas

It's worth pointing out that there are two variations of Shellos currently in Pokemon GO. One is blue and one is pink, and while prior speculation pointed to them as being region exclusives, that doesn't seem to be the case.

New Evolution Pokemon

  • Cherrim (evolves from Cherubi)
  • Gabite (evolves from Gible)
  • Garchomp (evolves from Gabite)
  • Gastrodon (evolves from Shellos)
  • Hippowdown (evolves from Hippopotas)
  • Mothim (evolves from male Burmy)
  • Wormadam (evolves from female Burmy)

Many of the new Pokemon added to Pokemon GO in the latest update can evolve if players have enough candy. Most of the Pokemon need just 50 candy to evolve, though evolving a Gabite to a Garchomp will take at least 100 Gible candy.

Lure Evolutions

  • Glaceon (evolves from Eevee with the Glacial Lure Module)
  • Leafeon (evolves from Eevee with the Mossy Lure Module)
  • Magnezone (evolves from Magneton with the Magnetic Lure Module)
  • Probopass (evolves from Nosepass with the Magnetic Lure Module)

Arguably the biggest addition to Pokemon GO in the latest update is the new Lure Modules - Glacial, Magnetic, and Mossy. As long as players are within spinning range of a PokeStop with one of the required Lure Modules, they will be able to evolve the Pokemon that require them.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
