After a week of Pokemon GO players hunting down Articuno, in addition to the other Battle Raid bosses, the first legendary rotation is about to kick the blue bird out and bring in Team Valor's mascot: Moltres. The introduction of Moltres is scheduled for August 1 and the bird is apparently already starting to pop up in some regions.

The Pokemon GO community is anxious to start battling Moltres and some users on Reddit claim to have already seen appearances of the legendary creature. These reports haven't been confirmed yet, but there are multiple screenshots and they appear to be pretty convincing.

Here's a look at one of the Moltres Battle Raid screenshots from Reddit...

Usually we would be extra skeptical with these kind of screenshots, but there are a few reasons to consider this as the real deal. First, August 1 is already arriving in some time zones, so it would make sense for the bird to start showing up in some parts of the world a little early. Second, Niantic has been moving to a gradual rollout of new features and changes in recent months.

After experiencing a number of botched events and feature rollouts, the Pokemon GO creators seems to be taking a new approach to content rollouts. By introducing a feature slowly, and in a few regions at a time, there is a better chance of avoiding crashes and devs are able to catch and fix bugs.

It would not be surprising at all to find out that Niantic started releasing Moltres into the wild early in some regions. Either way, hopefully everyone is hunting down and catching the Team Valor bird with the next day.

Players who plan to catch Moltres this week will want to follow this strategy. Good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
