The last few months in Pokemon GO have been packed with special events, major Pokemon debuts, and more. The months of festivities known as the Season of Mischief are now coming to an end, but fans should remain in high spirits, because it is concluding with a bang. As expect, the finale is all about Hoopa, the mischievous Pokemon responsible for many of the current Pokemon GO events. Fans can finally empower their Hoopa by transforming it into its Psychic/Dark-type Unbound form.
Fans won't just get access to Hoopa Unbound for free. First, Pokemon GO players have to progress through the Mischief Unbound Special Research, a set of tasks that wrap up the event and give players the tools they need to power up Hoopa. Although Pokemon GO fans are familiar with Special Research all about Legendary and Mythical Pokemon by now, Mischief Unbound has a few special characteristics that fans should bear in mind as they get into the game. The Research isn't daunting, but it requires persistence.
Important Features of Mischief Unbound
The research tasks attached to Mischief Unbound aren't difficult on the whole. Many of them are simple tasks like catching a certain number of Pokemon, visiting PokeStops, and earning some Hearts with a Buddy. There's two Mischief Unbound tasks that are a little more time consuming, though. In Part 2 fans have to complete ten Field Research Tasks, and in Part 3 players have to win three Raids. Players eager to quickly complete Mischief Unbound would be wise to explore somewhere with a lot of Gyms and PokeStops in order to find a lot of Field Research and Raids to clear.
There's also some logistical parts of Mischief Unbound to bear in mind. If fans haven't seen the Mischief Unbound research come up yet, they shouldtry to complete its two hidden prerequisites. Fans have to catch a Hoopa to start the quest, which Pokemon GO players will have already done if they've made enough progress in the Misunderstood Mischief Special Research. The other requirement is completing the 16-part Misunderstood Mischief, but any player in a hurry to get Hoopa Unbound can get around this requirement by spending $4.99 on a ticket for the Special Research before December 1.
Players should also note that Hoopa Unbound isn't actually locked behind Mischief Unbound; there's no new Pokemon to catch. In fact, players only have to complete Part 2 of Mischief Unbound to get the Prison Bottle, which will allow Hoopa Confined to become Hoopa Unbound. The process is expensive, as transforming into Hoopa Unbound costs 50 Hoopa Candy and 10,000 Stardust, meanwhile reversing the process costs 20 Candy and 2,000 Stardust. Completing Part 3 of Mischief Unbound grants enough Candy and Stardust to transform Hoopa into its Unbound form once, so players are encouraged to complete the whole Special Research series.
Wrapping up the Pokemon GO Season
The Season of Mischief has been a strong event for Pokemon GO. A lot of great Pokemon have returned to the game and made their debuts. The upcoming December 2021 Community Days promise to end Pokemon GO's year with a bang, but for the most part Pokemon GO players will have to look to the horizon and see what's next. Considering all the Pokemon from the Kalos, Alola, and Galar regions that still aren't in the game, there's plenty of potential Pokemon GO events to be had. Hopefully they'll be just as exciting as the Season of Mischief.
