During this time, Mime Jr., as well as its shiny variant, can be found by hatching Pokemon GO 5KM Eggs from Europe. Zangoose and Seviper's shiny versions can also be found in their respective real-world locations. During the event, there will also be decreased stardust costs, PokeStops will award 2x XP for spinning them, and Field Research tasks will be available for a limited time.

This event comes from the UNWTO's mission to promote and support responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism. A new UNWTO T-shirt will also be available to commemorate the event.

Pokemon GO has gone far in promoting travel and outdoor exploration for its players. For example, Pokemon GO Fest Chicago 2019 had visitors from 68 countries and regions, where Pokemon GO Fest Dortmund 2019 found half of all its visitors to be international. This new event will surely entice the most avid players to travel to other continents to find the new Mime Jr. and the other shiny Pokemon variants, and it will promote a healthy amount of walking as well.

Players must be careful when travelinghowever, as there are a multitude of dangers that players may accidentally walk into when playing Pokemon GO. If anyone chooses to go abroad for this event, it goes far to prepare for the trip. UNWTO advises that tourists follow the "Tips For A Responsible Travelerguidelines to avoid running into issues while enjoying their time during the event. These include respecting the local environment and culture, but also being informed on the location they are traveling.
