Niantic has made significant tweaks to Pokemon GO since its release, and it appears that the latest will make catching Mewtwo a little easier. Mewtwo now appears closer to the player on the catch screen, making it easier to land a hit with a Pokeball.

As an EX Raid boss, Mewtwo is significantly difficult for players to encounter in Pokemon GO, let alone catch. With Mewtwo's new proximity to the player, the catch circle is larger, and as Mewtwo fills more of the screen, he's easier to hit with a Pokeball. However, Niantic has also made the innermost circle comparatively smaller, meaning it's more difficult for players to land an Excellent while attempting to catch the legendary Pokemon.

While this change is probably welcome by most players, it still doesn't resolve some of Pokemon GO's biggest problems with catching EX Raid Pokemon. The biggest challenge currently facing players is getting an EX Raid invite in the first place, although even with an invite, the problems don't stop there. Some players have claimed to be invited to Mewtwo fights where no other trainers show up, making the fight impossible, while others have complained that their invites are for gyms they're nowhere near.

iPhone X Pokemon GO players are also struggling with their new phones, as Niantic approached the edgeless screen by zooming in the visuals of the game, making it more difficult to catch Pokemon with curveballs. This is particularly a problem for catching legendaries, since players need every bonus to the catch rate they can get, which is typically accomplished with curveballs and berries.

Mewtwo has one of the best capture rates for legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO, so players who haven't been able to catch it in the past should have a better chance of doing so now. Players who need some additional tips should check out Game Rant's guide to capturing Mewtwo in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
