Pokemon GO players have had quite a while to finish the Meltan Special Research at this point, but this series of quests is easily the most difficult to complete yet for the average casual player. A few steps along the way require catching a certain number of specific Pokemon who don't spawn frequently in the mobile game. That means players need to take advantage of Field Research rewards and track down the necessary quests.

Most of these Pokemon GO quests aren't very difficult to complete, but trainers need to know what they are looking for as they run around town spinning Pokestops to try and find the appropriate quests. Gamers who own Pokemon Let's Go have alternative ways to pick up Meltan, but even those Switch gamers likely want to complete the Special Research just to earn all of the rewards along the way and check that task off in the mobile game.
