Pokemon GO players may still be recovering from Sunday's Mareep Community Day event, but it's never too early to start looking ahead to the next big event. As rumors suggested, this May will bring another Kanto starter into the spotlight with a special Charmander Community Day.

The big Pokemon GO event will take place on Saturday, May 19 and offer players three hours of increased Charmander spawns, 3x Stardust bonus, three hour lures, and a special move that hasn't been revealed just yet.

As usual, the special move offered on Community Day will not be offered via Charge or Fast TMs. To earn the special move, players will need to catch or evolve the featured pokemon during the event timeframe.

Here's a look at the official announcement from the Pokemon GO Twitter account...

Although players may currently feel a little sick of the Gen 1 starter after the current Kanto event, the other bonuses will surely make the May Community Day worth the effort. In addition to the Stardust (which is always a precious resource) and special move, it seems highly likely that there will also be a chance to catch a special shiny Charmander variant during the event, as well.

We'll be sure to post more updates and details about the event as they are released. Until then, good luck out there trainers!
