As predicted in a datamine over the weekend, it seems like Pokemon GO is going to be kicking off some Gen 6 celebrations with the Luminous Legends X event. This is just the first of two Luminous events and it appears like it's going to be jam-packed with exciting features and rewards.

The Luminous Legends X event will feature the debut of Xerneas, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. The lengthly event spans two full weeks and is full of special spawns, bonuses, Egg hatches, Raid Bosses, and Research for trainers to take advantage of. The list of features is much longer than an average event, so this definitely feels like it's going to be a special occasion for Pokemon GO trainers.

This may come as a surprise to some trainers, but the announcement for the Luminous X event actually doesn't mention any portion of the event that connects to a ticketed experience. So far, it seems like full event and all of its Research and features will be available to all trainers without spending any cash on a ticket (like they may have done for the Kanto Tour). That, in addition to all of the new debuts and other features, will definitely make things more enticing for the casual audience.

In addition to dropping the full details about the Luminous Legends X event, Pokemon GO also revealed that there will indeed be a Luminous Legends Y companion event, as well. No date was revealed just yet, but the update did confirm that details would be coming soon and that the Y event would see  the Legendary Pokemon Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon, making its Pokemon GO debut, and Pancham hatching from Strange Eggs.

Over the next few weeks or so players should begin to learn a lot more about what other events are on the way throughout the final weeks of the the Season of Legends.
