The string of surprise Pokemon GO events hasn't ended with the start of 2020 and trainers are now preparing for battle against two returning Legendary creatures this weekend. Latios and Latias are fairly PvE relevant creature, so the Tier 5 battles are going to be very popular while this option is available over the special weekend Battle Raids. These can both be tough fights for players who aren't prepared, so trainers should take a minute to make sure they have the best counters powered up and ready.
Latios and Latias initially appeared in Pokemon GO raids a few years ago now, during a late winter/early spring rotation. That means that there are a lot of new Pokemon, evolutions, and movesets available now and the strategy for the Raids have changed quite a bit. For players who still have an older roster saved, we thought it would be a good idea to post an update with the current best counters available.
Before tonight'sthis week's Special Raid Weekend event, players will want to revisit their Dragon- and Psychic- counters and spend some Candy and Stardust to get the best team prepared. Dragon-types are going to be strongest here, so hopefully players already have some strong contenders ready for the big battle weekend...

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
