The rewards that can be earned through the completion of the Larvitar Community Day Classic Special Research are standard, and players that were happy with the Community Day Special Research stories that were available in 2022 will likely be satisfied with this one as well. That said, Pokemon GO's Quality Quills Special Research story, which was available as part of the Chespin Community Day that occurred earlier this month, offered better rewards overall. Indeed, the Chespin Special Research awarded more Stardust, XP, and encounters, and players may be somewhat disappointed to see that those rewards have not been maintained for Larvitar's Community Day.
With respect to the tasks that players must complete in order to earn these rewards, they are all quite straightforward. That said, fans are still advised to carve out some time during PoGO's Larvitar Community Day Classic to work on its Special Research story. This is recommended because Larvitar will be spawning with greater frequency during the event, making it much easier to complete the tasks that center around catching and evolving this Rock- and Ground-type Pokemon.
One final thing to mention is that evolving a Pupitar during the event, or within two hours of its completion, will produce a Tyranitar with Smack Down as its Fast Attack. For the uninitiated, Smack Down is the best Fast Attack to have on a Rock-focused Tyranitar. This provides some additional incentive for players to complete the "evolve one Pupitar" task on the day of the event, as doing so will create a powerful Rock-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO.
