It's time for another Pokemon GO event, but unlike the currently-active Halloween update this one will only be available in South Korea. Earlier this week, developer Niantic announced that 'Pokemon GO Week' would be an active event, running in conjunction with Korea's annual Pokemon Festa - an event which features a range of Pokemon-based activities.

At Pokemon Festa, fans can see a Pikachu Outbreak (dancers dressed as Pokemon's iconic mascot) and other events at the Lotte World Mall in Seoul on November 11 and 12. For all those who are still playing Niantic's popular mobile app, Pokemon GO Week will run from November 4 through November 12, and there's certainly incentive to join in the festivities.

Pokemon GO raid rewards nerf

Players all around South Korea will have the chance to get their hands on Mr. Mime and Unown, but those in Seoul will have the opportunity to take part in raids featuring returning Legendary Pokemon Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia. For the rest of the world, these powerful creatures are no longer available for capture, but the promise of region-specific events bringing them back is sure to make many fans happy - even if they can't get to South Korea this time.

The entire country will also see an increased spawn-rate for all Pokemon, meaning that players will be all but overwhelmed with the catchable creatures and those still looking to fill out their Pokedex will have less trouble doing so. It's probably not an event worth making the trip to Seoul for, but Pokemon GO Week is a nice addition to the list of special events that Niantic has hosted in the last year.

In other Pokemon GO news, the title's development team are still working on how to properly implement the EX Raid battle system as player complaints indicate that the current invite system is insufficient. A recent post from the developer promises improvements based on user response, so it might not be too long before other players are able to get their hands on the coveted Mewtwo when it finally arrives in their region.

Pokemon GO is out now on Android and iOS. Pokemon GO Week will run from November 4 through November 12.
