The warm weather is here and that means it's time for another summer of events if Pokemon GO. There will be another massive GO Fest event to celebrate later this summer, but the excitement starts much earlier than that with a Community Day that fans have been requesting for a very long time.

This June Gible is finally taking the spotlight when this month's Community Day arrives. The popular Pokemon is a fan-favorite and the June 6 event in Pokemon GO is sure to be a very popular one when it arrives this weekend.

Gible is a dual type (Dragon and Ground), which makes it incredibly valuable in terms of badge progression. Racking up Dragon-type catches is no easy feat, so expect players to be hard at working catching and evolving Gibles through the Community Day window to take advantage of the increased spawns.

Start and End Times

11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Starting in February 2019, Community Day events now always take place on local time, no matter where you are playing. That changes a bit over the winter months as the time is split between hemispheres rather than time zones. It looks like we're back to one time at this point though.

Special Move

Evolve Gabite (Gible’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Garchomp that knows the attack Earth Power.

Make sure to evolve during the active time window (within an hour of the event ending) if you want to secure it.

Bonuses

3x Catch XP

Incense activated during the event will last for three hours

Features

Gible will be appearing more frequently in the wild. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Evolve Gabite (Gible’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Garchomp that knows the attack Earth Power.

Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!

There’ll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, five Incense, five Lucky Eggs, and an Elite Charged TM.

For US$1 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Gible Community Day-exclusive Special Research story, Just a Nibble.

Stay tuned for when tickets for the Just a Nibble Special Research story go live! Tickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).

Please note that this Special Research will not include an in-game medal.

Limited Time Field Research

Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured Pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.

Shiny Variant

Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for shiny Swablu while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day event, so we fully expect to see them this month, as well.

That’s everything we know at this point! Gible is definitely one of the most popular Pokemon, so it is likely to give trainers a good reason to take a break the usual daily activities and dive head first into some event tasks and shiny hunting.

Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
