Aside from a chance at getting the perfect Swinub in Pokemon GO, players will have a chance at capturing a shiny version. Additionally, should a player evolve Swinup into Pilowswine and then into Mamoswine during the event, that Mamoswine will know the Charged Attack Ancient Power. In trainer battles, Ancient Power hits for 45 power with a chance of increasing the user's attack and defense. In gyms and raids, Ancient Power hits for 70 power.

Pokemon GO's Season of Heritage will run from December 1 until March 1, 2022. It promises to be packed full of events, bonuses, and different Pokemon will be making their appearances in new areas across the world.

Incense Encounters: Ice-Type

The following Pokemon will be attracted to Incense from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM local time: Seel, Jynx, Sneasel, Snorunt, Snover, and Vanillite. There will also be a chance to capture a Galarian Darumaka in addition to shiny versions of Seel, Jynx, Sneasel, Snorunt, and Snover.

Incense Encounters: Ground-Type

The following Pokemon will be attracted to Incense from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Onix, Cubone, Rhyhorn, Wooper, Phanpy, and Barboach. There will also be a chance to capture Larvitar in addition to shiny versions of Onix, Cubone, Rhyhorn, Wooper, Barboach, and Larvitar.

Swinub is the obvious choice for an event featuring Ice and Ground-type Pokemon thanks to it having both types. The last time it saw any sort of special attention was for a Community Day back in February of 2019. Mamoswine, once fully evolved, can be a real powerhouse in battles thanks to its strong set of moves. Plus, having a shiny Mamoswine or even a full collection of shiny Swinub evolutions can be a strong-enough motivator for some players. Either way, players will want to be ready when Incense Day kicks off on December 5.
