Pokemon GO's new Trainer Battles feature is officially live, which means there is a lot of new content for trainers to explore. One of the most exciting parts of this new era of PoGO is the ability to unlock a second charge attack for Pokemon to use during battles.

Charge attacks are powerful abilities that Pokemon GO trainers can access during battles and having a second one provides the opportunity to better adjust the offensive strategy based on which move types are strong or weak against the current matchup. Players may notice that when they first enter a battle (against players or against Team Leaders), their Pokemon will seem to only have one charge attack. In order to access second charge attacks, trainers will need to spend some resources first...

Here's how to unlock second charge attacks:

1.) From the main UI, tap the PokeBall icon and then select Pokemon.

2.) Use the search or scroll to find the Pokémon you want to add a second move for.

3.) At the bottom of the screen, there will be a new button called "New Attack". Click that.

4.) Tap on Yes to confirm!

That's all there is to it! The New Attack is a bit expensive in terms of Stardust and Candy, but hopefully trainers have enough saved up to add second attacks for their favorite fighters.

Be sure to check back in the coming days for more details, guides, and strategies as we continue to study the Battle Trainer metagame. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
