Whether you're a casual or a hardcore Pokemon GO player, you won't want to miss this month's Community Day. The monthly event is Dratini-themed this time around and offers players some insane bonuses that will make it more than worth spending a few hours in-game this upcoming weekend.

From special lures, spawn rates, and stardust bonuses to unlocking the Draco Meteor Dragonite move; there's a lot to keep track of this time around. To make things simpler, follow this guide to prepare before the Pokemon GO upcoming event:

Where to play?

Perhaps the most important decision on Community Day is where to play. There isn't time to drive from park to park if you want to get the most value out of the event, so it's crucial to organize with your local community of players before the event kicks off. Most communities do this with the help of Discord or Facebook Groups, so make sure your local Battle Raid squad is organized and has a good location picked out.

Weather Bonuses

Not that any players have the opportunity to control the weather, but the ideal scenario would be windy weather for boosted Dratini catches. If there is a debate between two locations and one of them has the windy bonus, that's where you'll want to be.

Store 7 Incense

Incense is usually an item that we aren't a fan of, but keeping it active during the full event will increase the amount of Dratini sighted and should help get players closer to that top tier of Dragon badges. Seven should guarantee no downtime during the event.

Stock Up On Pokeballs

This point is most important for GO+ users. If you own the device, you know how easy it is to run through all of your Pokeballs during a long day of playing. Be sure you are fully stocked before the event starts.

Clear Your Inventory

Along with all of those Pokeballs will soon come a ton of Pokemon to fill up your inventory. If you don't want to worry about getting IV values and deciding what to trash during the event, we recommend having lots of inventory space open before things start.

Store 7 Star Pieces

Just like Incense, players looking to min-max the event will want to keep a Star Piece active from start to finish. Seven should be enough to keep yourself covered until everything wraps up.

Eggs?

This event has no bonuses or rewards related to hatching or collecting eggs. That means you can pretty much operate the way you usually do on that front.

Getting Draco Meteor

To guarantee Draco Meteor, players need to evolve a Dragonite during the event. Check out the full guide for unlocking Draco Meteor for more details.

That should be enough homework to keep everyone busy until the event kicks off. Good luck out there, trainers!
