Pokemon GO’s December Community Day weekend event is just a few short days away and this month players are in for a Community Day unlike any that has come before. Next weekend Pokemon GO players will have the chance to stock up on every Pokemon who has already been featured in a 2018 Community Day event.
The basic idea of Community Day is pretty simple: Go out and catch a ton of pokemon for three hours, but this time around things are different. The spawns will appear throughout the weekend, but special bonuses will only be available during a three hour window on December 2. For players who need a little more direction than that, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide full of all the intel you need for the big day.

Limited Time Field Research
Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured Pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.
Shiny Variant
We know for sure that all of these Pokemon have shiny variants, but what we don't know is when their spawn rates will be increased. People are speculating that the increased shiny rates will only take place during the three-hour bonus window, but we don't know that for sure yet. Either way, it should become very clear starting on Friday afternoon.
That’s everything we know at this point! Check back for updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
