Pokemon GO players were very excited when the Ultra Bonus reward reveal confirmed that trainers around the world would get a chance to catch some regional exclusives without traveling. This particular reward is meant to help trainers complete their Kanto Pokedex, but unfortunately the regionals still seem pretty difficulty to get a hold of...

Fans began to worry yesterday when the Pokemon GO twitter account released a tweet stating that the regionals are still going to be very rare, even though they are currently appearing in 7km eggs. As trainers began hatching eggs, it became clear that this was definitely the case.

In an effort to figure out exactly how rare each spawn was, some members of the community began compiling data and crunching the numbers. So far, these are the estimated hatch rates for each option in a 7km egg, based on a sample size of over 2,500 hatches...

The 12% chance to hatch Tangela and Porygon seems to be causing a lot of frustration amongst the community. At this point, nearly everyone is hoping for Regionals, so seeing anything else hatch feels a bit like hatching a Rattata or Meowth.

Luckily, players have until the end of the month to test their luck and continue trying to hatch the rare regionals. Niantic is clearly looking to make some serious bank off of incubator purchases during this event, so it's not surprising that the company is making it hard to get a hold of all of the regionals.

Check back for more news and updates in the coming days. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
