After months of waiting, Pokemon GO players finally got access to one of the most long awaited features of the Pokemon Home app. Now, players can finally transfer Pokemon from GO to Home and also into Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Unfortunately, seeing as the feature is still somewhat new, it’s not without its various flaws, bugs, and glitches. One of those glitches has to do with transferring regional variants of certain Pokemon from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Home. Thankfully, the Pokemon Company has now announced that a fix for this bug is currently in the works.

It goes without saying, but the Pokemon series has a ton of Pokemon included within its roster across all eight regions. As of Pokemon Sword and Shield, there are currently around 932, depending on whether or not players count certain forms or variants of different Pokemon in the Pokedex. There are about 36 Pokemon with regional variants in the Pokemon series, which can be caught or hatched in Pokemon GO. Sadly, it seems there is a bug with Pokemon Home that causes regional variant Pokemon to retain the movesets of their original counterparts.

To break it down, this means that if players were to transfer an Alolan Vulpix, which is a pure Ice type Pokemon, from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Home, there is a possibility that it will be given fire type moves due to Kantonian Vulpix’s pure Fire typing. As such, the moves that players have on their regional variant Pokemon may not be the same moves they had before the transfer. While it’s not a game breaking bug by any means, it’s definitely a pretty big inconvenience. Thankfully, the Pokemon Company is aware of the bug and is working to roll out a fix as soon as possible.

Apparently, the fix will automatically roll out in the coming weeks. According to reputable Pokemon news site Seribii.net, this means that player’s regional variant Pokemon in Pokemon Home will slowly have their move sets automatically fixed during the next few weeks. It seems like the fixes will come in waves, so players may have to wait quite a while before all of their regional variant Pokemon have their correct moves restored. The Pokemon Company has slowly been making improvements to Pokemon Home since its release, so it’s nice to see it maintaining the app with its new functionality.

On the other hand, Pokemon GO is also still a major success for the Pokemon Company as well. Recently, dataminers have discovered the first Generation 6 Pokemon in Pokemon GO. These Pokemon should make their way to the game when the Season of Celebration begins on December 1. Hopefully, there won’t be any bugs involving these new Generation 6 Pokemon when transferring them to Pokemon Home.
