Pokemon GO offers another holiday gift to its players, this time releasing three shop bundles containing items at a discount, as well as some that can't ordinarily be bought.

Pokemon GO is doing plenty to celebrate the holidays, and it looks like Niantic isn't done with end-of-year surprises just yet. Pokemon GO players can now purchase a variety of useful items with Pokecoins at a discounted price.

Pokemon GO's holiday celebration continues, and Niantic has now released three special holiday boxes that contain bundled items. The boxes come in three tiers: Special, Great, and Ultra. Special Boxes cost 250 Pokecoins and contain 10 Great Balls and 2 Egg Incubators. Great Boxes cost 550 Pokecoins and contain 20 Great Balls, 2 Incense, and 4 Egg Incubators. Finally, Ultra Boxes cost 1500 Pokecoins and contain 20 Ultra Balls, 25 Incense, and 6 Egg Incubators.

These boxes will only be available for a limited time, with this particular promotion running until December 30th. From December 30th until January 3rd, they'll be replaced by another set of holiday boxes, this time referred to as Bronze, Silver, and Gold Holiday Boxes. However, Niantic has not yet revealed exactly what the latter set of boxes will contain, only officially stating that they will contain "Incense, Lure Modules, Lucky Eggs, Poke Balls, and Great Balls."

The boxes are pretty good deals; if the player bought each item contained in the boxes separately, they would spend more money than they would buying the box. Additionally, players can't normally buy Great Balls or Ultra Balls, so it might be a good time for players who live in rural regions with few PokeStops to stock up, especially with the increased spawn rate in rural areas.

While the discounts are probably pleasing to loyal Pokemon GO players, Niantic is no doubt hoping for a boost to the number of purchases made in Pokemon GO's digital shop. The developer has already made a fortune off the game, with reports indicating that it earned $200 million in just one month, though it seems highly likely that the amount has seen a significant drop off with the diminishing player base. Offering a discount and rare Poke Balls should help to boost those numbers back up, especially while the game is offering other limited time holiday opportunities like Santa hat Pikachu.

Although Niantic still hasn't added new features like trading to Pokemon GO, it's a good time for gamers who haven't played in a while to to check out the game. With increased starter spawns starting soon, new baby Pokemon available, and free Incubators to collect, there's plenty to be excited about in Pokemon GO during this holiday season.

Pokemon GO is out now for Android and iOS devices.
