The first part of the Pokemon GO Halloween Event is here, and it brings more spooky content than ever for trainers to enjoy. It's the mobile title's 5th Anniversary this year, so Niantic has gone all out with a two-part event that will run until the end of October.

The Pokemon GO "What Lies Beneath the Mask" Special Research will last until the end of the event, but Part 1 of Halloween Mischief must be completed by October 22. The event has unique Field Research tasks that trainers can check out in this guide.

Halloween Mischief Part 1 Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO players can pick up these special event Field Research Tasks by spinning a Pokestop. A free slot must be available to obtain the task, and they can be stacked by spinning different Pokestops that have the same challenge. However, once a task has been completed, trainers can no longer pick one up from a Pokestop until the next day. Each day will change what research is available at each Pokestop.

The Pikachu, Piplup, and Drifblim encounters are all with the new Halloween Mischief styles of Pokemon, and the Yamask encounter is with its Galarian form. Trainers can also get shiny versions of Drowzee, Pikachu, Piplup, Drifblim, Spinarak, and Zubat. This is a rare occurrence, but Drowzee, Pikachu, Spinarak, Piplup, and Yamask's regular form will also benefit from an increased wild spawn rate. This is good news for shiny-hunters, or anybody who needs more candy to evolve or power up these Pokemon.

In addition to these Halloween-themed tasks, two new stages of the Pokemon GO Misunderstood Mischief Special Research are now available. This is a season-long event that has slowly been adding additional steps with every new event. The Pokemon available in raids have also been refreshed, and players will be able to evolve their Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking for the first time.

There's a lot to keep trainers busy this Halloween season in Pokemon GO, but they should remember to complete their Part 1 Halloween Mischief tasks before October 22.

Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices.
