In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Niantic's AR mobile game Pokemon GO has had to adapt by postponing its social gathering events. However that has not stopped the developers from preparing to launch new content, and Unova's Gothita appears to be the next monster that is going to be added.

The official Pokemon GO Twitter account posted a silhouetted image of the Psychic-type today with a small blurb of text indicating it "intently observes both Trainers and other Pokemon," looking at something "only it can see." With Gothita should come its two evolutions Gothorita and Gothitelle, all recognizable by their black-and-white maid outfit appearances.

As Niantic continues to run through the Generation 5 Pokedex, it will be adding the Ground/Flying-type Legendary Pokemon Landorus in the Battle League and five-star raids starting on March 31, 2020. With no clear indication given as to when Gothita will appear in the Pokemon GO Tweet, it's likely they may both drop together as part of the same update.

The worldwide push for social distancing and self-isolation to counter the coronavirus has already radically changed how Pokemon GO is handling its content output. Lugia Raid Week was canceled on account of the pandemic, so it should be interesting to see how the mobile game handles the addition of more new Pokemon like Gothita and Landorus during this trying period.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
