Pokemon GO gen 4 has officially arrived! Or, at least, the first wave has. Players are still trying to figure out exactly what that means, but for now, there are some surprising exclusions from what is currently available.

Many players expected that new evolutions of previous generation Pokemon would be able to evolve as soon as the first wave arrive. The Pokemon GO community has quickly confirmed that this is definitely not the case, at least so far.

At this point, there are no new evolutions available for previous gen Pokemon and Stardust and Candy costs have not been adjusted as predicted. The question now is whether these changes will arrive gradually over a series of Gen 4 waves or if the new evolutions will all be unlocked at once in a single wave.

Niantic hasn't spoken out about when these evolutions will release just yet (or if they'll be staggered), but we'll be sure to keep an eye out for confirmation one way or the other.
