Pokemon GO fans have been eagerly awaiting the next batch of Gen 3 monsters since things kicked off with the Halloween event in October and now the moment has finally arrived. The next batch of Gen 3 creatures is now live in Pokemon GO.

Niantic isn't releasing all of Gen 3 at once, but a new batch of Hoenn region Pokemon are now available thanks to a forced update. In addition, the game's new weather system is live, as well. It's cloudy where we're writing this, so Fairy, Fighting, and Poison-types are appearing more frequently, giving bonus stardust, and are stronger in battle.

Pokemon GO's official Twitter account made the news public earlier today...

The batch of new Pokemon gives players lots of new Pokedex entries to hunt down (and storage space to fill up), which can lead to a nice bonus in experience. The game's popularity definitely takes a hit during the winter months, but the chance to catch brand-new monsters should help keep players engaged over the holidays.

So far, Niantic hasn't hinted about when the next batch of Gen-3 monsters will hit the game. If we had to guess, based on past behavior from the company, we'd say it won't be until after January. Check up for updates and more news and we dig into the new content.

Good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
