After a lot of waiting, and a few months of worrying about what was going to happen, Pokemon GO players are finally just a few short days away from GO Fest 2020. The anniversary event will be taking place remotely this year and players all around the world have the chance to purchase a ticket a participate without traveling to one specific city where events are taking place like usual. This is a massive shift for the annual PoGO event and transitioning all the usual staples of GO Fest has been an interesting challenge for Niantic.

Luckily, the Pokemon GO team has come up with some fun alternatives to the usual in-person extras that make the event so immersive and exciting. In addition to print-at-home swag that trainers can download, Niantic is also bringing the Team Lounge experience to everyone around the world. Usually, there would be big tents setup at the physical location of the event where players could mingle, make new friends, and geek out over their mutual love of the mobile AR game. This time around, that experience is being recreated in Virtual Team Lounges.

The new spin on the Team Lounge will offer players an online destination where they can go to take a break and hang out with some fellow players throughout the weekend. The lounges will also offer the opportunity to consume some exclusive virtual content developed by the PoGO team and watch along with highlights from the weekend's event livestream. That's just the tip of the iceberg and there's a lot more that players can expect when they visit the virtual Pokemon GO lounge in the coming days...

As trainers continue working through all of these amazing events, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
