Although the Battle Showdown 2019 event ended not too long ago, Pokemon GO players are already being given yet another event. This Pokemon GO Equinox event, which is now underway and will run through March 26, places emphasis on Grass-type Pokemon, introduces a shiny Oddish into the mobile game, and also adds a new set of Field Research tasks and rewards.

Per usual with these temporary types of Pokemon GO Field Research tasks, they are also focused on Pokemon featured in the event. It's also worth mentioning that broad descriptions of these Pokemon GO tasks leaked earlier this month by the well-known leaker Chrales and have since been confirmed by the Silph Road. Perhaps the most notable reward is the Turtwig, especially for those who have yet to get the final form of the gen 4 Grass type starter Pokemon.

Another potential standout for these Pokemon GO tasks is the Tangela reward. Tangela's gen 4 Pokemon Sinnoh evolution, Tangrowth, was added to the Pokemon GO's roster at the start of February 2019, so it's likely many still do not have this Pokemon. Plus, with the number of Sinnoh Stone rewards that also came out during the Mamoswine Community Day, there's likely no better chance.

Although this hasn't exactly been confirmed, it seems safe to say that players who at least get these tasks before the event expires will be able to complete them afterward. However, once the event is over, players will only have the March Pokemon GO Field Research tasks and rewards to do. This event features 4 new Field Research Tasks, with 3 of these giving players a Pokemon encounter as a reward.

Field Research Task (Reward)

  • Catch 10 Grass-Type Pokemon (1000 Stardust)
  • Catch 3 Bulbasaur or Chikorita (Turtwig)
  • Evolve 2 Grass-Type Pokemon (Tangela)
  • Evolve 5-Grass Type Pokemon (Venusaur)

Because of the rapid sequence of events that have taken place in 2019 for Pokemon GO, it's also worth pointing out that Treecko Community Day is set to take place on March 23, a few days before the end of this event. It'll be a good way to fill most of the above requirements, as players will be catching and also evolving them (if for no other reason than to unlock a Sceptile with an exclusive move). Once all of these events are over, it seems like a safe bet that April will contain even more events for Pokemon GO players.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
