Pokemon GO players will likely be putting most of their energy today into Magikarp Community Day and its Special Research, but Enigma week will still be raging on in the background throughout the course of the weekend and into next week. The second Ultra Bonus Reward began yesterday afternoon and features some exciting enigmatic spawns and a fresh rotation of Battle Raid bosses for trainers to challenge.

The biggest surprise about enigma week so far for a lot of players has been the lack of an additional timed research chain. Because Dragon Week kicked off with one, that was sort of the expectation heading into this weekend, as well. Alas, Pokemon GO players have to settle for some interesting spawns and the chance to battle some different Pokemon in Battle Raids over the next week until the third Ultra Bonus event takes over.

The list of Enigma Week Battle Raid bosses is pretty interesting and offers a mix of shiny opportunities, some previously very rare Pokemon (Unown), and a five-star boss that many players may have missed while it was originally available in the EX Raid spot. At this point it doesn't seem like these Battle Raid bosses are going to have a massive impact on the metagame, but there are still plenty of bosses who are worth using a Raid Pass to defeat.

Tier 1

Clefairy

Jigglypuff

Gothita

Solosis

Elgyem

Tier 3

Lunatone

Tier 4

Metagross

Bronzong

Tier 5

Deoxys

Some of the most exciting highlights from the list include the possibility for shiny Deoxys, shiny Unown, and shiny Staryu. Although they might be less useful for Battle Raids themselves, shiny Lunstone and Solrock are also going to be very appealing to the collectors out there. Although shiny Pokemon have no impact on actual gameplay or stats, collecting them is a very popular challenge that many Pokemon GO trainers have embraced. There are some players who have goals of obtaining an entire shiny Pokedex and dedicate many hours to hunting for shiny spawns or seeking out trades to acquire any shiny creatures that are currently available in the mobile AR game.

In comparison to the opportunity to encounter Deino and Gible, Enigma Week may seem slightly less exciting than Dragon Week so far, but it will be interesting to keep a close eye on the event and see if Niantic drops in any other surprises throughout the week.

As trainers continue working through these events, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
