Niantic has a regular update schedule with frequent events for Pokemon GO, and with the summer season rapidly approaching, more updates are on the way. Although Pokemon GO's eggstravaganza just wrapped up, trainers on the hunt for Generation 4 Pokemon now have something new to look forward to in-game.

Pokemon GO's egg pool will be refreshed starting on April 26th at 1 p.m. PT. Although not all of the Pokemon have yet been confirmed, gamers can expect to see a large variety of Generation 4 Pokemon hatching from nearly all egg varieties, including some Sinnoh starters.

The changes announced so far include 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs. 2km eggs now have the potential to hatch a Bonsly, Chimchar, Piplup, or Turtwig. 5km eggs can hatch Buizel, Bronzor, Combee, Croagunk, Cubone, Glameow, or Skorupi. 10km eggs will potentially produce Absol, Cranidos, Mawile, Riolu, Shieldon, and Shinx.

At this time, no official information has been provided regarding 7km eggs, which may indicate that the pool for that type is unchanged. In addition, Niantic notes that "many more" types of Pokemon will be available in the three aforementioned types of eggs, so there are likely still some surprises waiting to be hatched.

While some players may still be exhausted from the recent eggstravaganza, the newly refreshed egg pools should provide established players with something to do for the next couple months. Newer players may also be interested in the Pokemon GO Field Research Breakthrough rewards for May and June, as completing the tasks will provide a chance at one of four legendary Pokemon - Lugia, Ho-Oh, Latias, or Latios - to add to their rosters.

Niantic has offered plenty to look forward to in Pokemon GO going forward, as well. The year's Pokemon GO Fest celebration in Chicago is rapidly approaching, and players who were lucky enough to win a chance to buy a ticket for the Chicago event should be receiving their instructions from Niantic via e-mail and in the app. While not every Pokemon GO trainer will be able to attend, Niantic typically provides bonuses or incentives to players all over the world during the live events, so there should be plenty for trainers of all experience levels to enjoy starting this summer.
