Back in 2018, Niantic held an Eevee Community Day in Pokemon GO centered around the Pokemon in question. At the time, three of Eevee's evolutions had yet to be added to the game, namely the Grass type Leafeon and Ice tpye Glaceon from Diamond and Pearl (which are getting remakes later this year) and X and Y's Fairy type Sylveon. Now, with all eight evolutions available, Niantic has confirmed that it's bringing the Community Day back for August, but it won't be exactly the same.

Despite being called a Community Day, it will actually span two days, specifically Saturday, August 14th and Sunday, August 15th. Community Day bonuses will only be available from 10am local time to 5pm local time and include things like Eevee appearing more regularly in the wild and Incense lasting longer.

However, there are additional bonuses that will be available at any time from Friday, August 13th to Monday, August 16th. The main one being that if an Eevee is evolved during this period, they'll learn a special attack. Not only that, but the attack will be different depending on the evolution.

For most of them, the move matches their type (so the Water-type Vaporeon will learn the Water attack Scald), but some will learn a move of a different type (for example, Psychic-type Espeon will the Ghost attack Shadow Ball). Futhermore, any Eevee caught or hatched will know Last Resort, the move that was the spotlight of the last Eevee Community Day event.

This will also be the perfect opportunity for Pokemon GO players to obtain a Sylveon. Normally, evolving Eevee into Sylveon requires 70 buddy hearts but, for the weekend, players will only need seven, meaning it'll be much easier to get one for the collection. Aside from that, there will be new stickers inspired by Eevee and the evolutions available throughout all of August. The Eevee stickers can be found by spinning PokeStops, opening gifts, and within the in-game shop, while the evolution stickers can only be bought from the shop. The full details can be read on the official website.

Eevee has always been a relatively popular Pokemon, and that popularity seems to have only grown in recent years. It being chosen as one of the mascots for the Pokemon Let's Go games alongside Pikachu no doubt contributed, with it later receiving a unique Gigantamax form in Sword & Shield. Thanks to its unique ability to evolve into several different new forms, fans naturally expect even more to be added in future games to represent other types, with some even coming up with their own fan-made ones.
