Starting today, Pokemon GO players have a new big, bad level 5 Raid Boss to takedown and add to their collection. Dialga is a very tough Steel- and Dragon-type Pokemon that will be a great addition to battle rosters going forward, so players will definitely want to take some time to put together a reliable crew for defeating the new boss.

Dialga will stick around in Raids for most of March, so players should have plenty of time to make multiple attempts to catch the new Legendary. To get ready for the big battles, trainers are going to want to sink some resources into powering up their strongest Fighting- and Ground-type monsters.

Luckily, Fighting- and Ground-types have been relevant for previous raid bosses, so many trainers will already have a strong lineup ready for the big fight. For those who are starting from scratch, we highly recommend putting as much Stardust as you can afford into high IV copies of Machamp, Breloom, Hariyama, Lucario, Heracross, Toxicroak, and Groudon.

It's also important to keep in mind that if it is sunny outside, the weather boost will make Groudon the all-start in this fight. Be sure to adjust your roster as needed based on those potential weather boosts.

Obviously there are some weaker Pokemon that will still serve as decent counters, but those are the top picks for players who want to make sure they make it out of the raid without any trouble. Be sure to have a strong group of players to tackle the Battle Raid with, since taking down Legendaries with fewer than four or five people is a pretty difficult feat.
