EX Battle Raids have been a controversial system since they were first implemented and used to release Mewtwo into the mobile AR game, but that hasn't stopped Pokemon GO trainers from taking part in the invite-only events. The last few months have seen players taking on the various forms of Deoxys in the EX Raids, and another rotation is right around the corner.

According to a recent tweet and press release, Defense Form Deoxys will be back and tougher than ever starting on March 25. Some trainers let out a collective groan at this announcement, because this particular Pokemon isn't very useful outside of specific PvP uses, but any shakeup to the EX Pokemon availability is usually enough to get some new players out and raiding with hopes to earn an invite.

The invite system did undergo some changes in 2018 and now players who secured an invitation are able to bring along one super or ultra friend to the raid. This is definitely a welcome improvement to the system and seems to be doing a great job incentivizing gift interactions and also filling out the EX Raids enough to fire off.

"The DNA Pokémon, Deoxys, has tested the strength of Trainers in EX Raids and has changed form again! Defense Forme Deoxys will be in EX Raids with stronger defenses than previously seen, so make sure your team is prepared. This Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon will be available to challenge beginning March 25."

How tough the defense form Deoxys really is will be determined when the rotation takes place later this month. If the strategies for taking down the EX Raid need to change, we'll be sure to post an updated guide.

Be sure to check back for more Pokemon GO news, updates, and guides in the coming weeks. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
