Pokemon GO has come a long way since its 2016 debut. The popular augmented reality mobile game started off with the original 151 Pokemon, but it has since expanded to include Pokemon from nearly every generation. Niantic still adds new Pokemon to Pokemon GO on a regular basis, and now the Electric/Fairy-type Pokemon Dedenne will be making its debut in the game.

Niantic recently pulled the curtain back on its Festival of Lights event that it has planned for the month of November. One of the highlights of this event is the debut of Dedenne, which will be making its debut in Pokemon GO on November 5 when the event kicks off. Dedenne will remain in Pokemon GO indefinitely, but it seems that players will find it much easier to actually catch one while the Festival of Lights event is live.

When the Pokemon GO Festival of Lights event starts, Dedenne will begin appearing more frequently in the wild. The Pokemon will also be available as a Field Research reward, though it will supposedly be fairly rare for Pokemon GO Trainers to get one through that method. Besides catching Dedenne out in the wild or as a Field Research reward, Pokemon GO players will also have the chance to battle Dedenne in 1-star Raids.

With Dedenne set to be one of the most common Pokemon in the wild throughout November 2021, it shouldn't be all that difficult for Pokemon GO players around the world to catch it. However, those in India will have even more opportunities to catch Dedenne, as there will be a special India-exclusive event called "A Celebration in India" that will take place from Sunday, November 7 at 4:00pm local time until 7:00pm local time. While the event is active, Pokemon GO players in India will be able to enjoy double Candy for catching Pokemon as well as more frequent encounters with both Dedenne and Blitzle.

Pokemon GO is celebrating the arrival of Dedenne in other ways as well. There will be Dedenne-inspired items available to purchase in the Pokemon GO item shop, and players will also be able to grow their sticker collection with Dedenne-themed stickers. As usual, the Dedenne-themed stickers will be available from spinning Pokemon GO PokeStop discs, opening Gifts from friends, or purchasing them with coins.

The arrival of Dedenne in Pokemon GO marks yet another Kalos region Pokemon for the game, and should help players get a little closer to completing their Pokedexes. There are still many Pokemon that have yet to debut in Pokemon GO, and it will be interesting to see when everyone else makes the jump to the game.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
