Pokemon GO players are about to have a very busy summer thanks to Pokemon GO Fest and plenty of other events taking place over the next few months. The community is expecting new content throughout the coming season and the latest datamine teases not only a big Battle Raid event, but also some new items that may trigger long-rumored evolutions.
The datamine comes from reliable Pokemon GO source Chrales and details upcoming Research Tasks for Raid Week 2019 in addition to three new items. The new items seem to be variations of the existing lure module that are made to specific types of Pokemon. In addition to drawing in those Pokemon, the lures apparently can also cause some Pokemon to evolve.
The three lures are Glacial, Magnetic, and Mossy; so trainers are already losing their minds with excitement at the possibility of Pokemon like Glaceon or Leafeon finally being available. At this point, we don't know which Pokemon will actually evolve with these lures, but those certainly seem like some logical guesses.
There is no release date for this content yet, so don't login to the game and expect to find these items available. We also still have no idea how players will obtain the new lure modules. It seems likely that they will be somewhat rare and may be rewards for particular Field Research tasks or something like that. Once the information becomes available, we'll be sure to post an update.
In addition to the lure module, Chrales also dropped some unsurprising Field Research tasks for Raid Week 2019. We don't have details about that event just yet, so it will be exciting to find out what kind of incentives and rewards Niantic has planned.
Be sure to check back in the coming days for more Pokemon GO news, updates, and strategy guides.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
