Pokemon GO's big holiday event is just around the corner, which means it is time to get the final pieces in place behind the scenes. The latest datamine of the mobile AR game reveals some details about new moves and Pokemon that will be arriving in the coming weeks.

The most exciting part of the datamine for many players will likely come with the confirmation that Genesect's signature move, Techno Blast, has been added to the game's code. This move has some different types depending on what item is being held by Genesect in other Pokemon games, but that's likely not how it will work in Pokemon GO.

Instead, there will be different forms of Genesect that should help offer access to the different type Techno Blast attacks. To reflect that, the datamined code looks more like five new moves, rather than just one (it takes up move slots 336-340 in the game's code).

In addition to the information about Techno Blast, the datamine also went on to include many of the new assets that are needed for the holiday event. That includes the addition of costumes and avatar items that may be either for the upcoming winter holiday or future events that have yet to be confirmed.

Some of the new assets include Top Hat Pichu, Top Hat Pikachu, Top Hat Raichu, Holiday Pikachu, Holiday, Delibird, Holiday Cubchoo, 2020 Slowpoke, 2021 Slowbro. There is also a bunch of new winter gear for avatars including ear muffs, two sweaters, and four different pairs of boots.

The datamine doesn't contain any surprise features or anything like that, but considering all of the change that just arrived with the GO Beyond Update, that would have been pretty surprising. There's already a lot of new functionality to explore this month, so hopefully fans are able to enjoy the upcoming event as they continue grinding through new content and racing towards the increased level cap.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the early days of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
