Pokemon GO is smack in the middle of its latest event, the Kanto Celebration, but its developer Niantic is ready to keep things moving forward. Version 0.201 of the game (1.167 for iOS users) is officially being distributed through app stores, allowing Pokemon Trainers a glimpse at upcoming new features.

While the update is now available to many users through the App Store/Google Play, changes won't take place until Pokemon GO officially "pushes" the update onto all devices. That said, once Version 0.201 becomes active, it seems likely that players will be meeting some new Pokemon, one of which may be Galarian Slowking.

As per Niantic's official release notes for the update, the only major change is that players will now be able to "mass transfer" Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. Players will have to toggle a special setting once the update is active, but after doing so, they will be able to transfer Legendary and Mythical Pokemon when selecting multiple Pokemon at once. This has been a much-requested change simply because transferring Pokemon one at a time is rather time consuming. While the security of being unable to accidentally mass transfer a Legendary is appreciated, the option to choose when to rely on that feature would be just as well-received.

Aside from this, and bug fixes, dedicated players have been able to uncover some additional parts of this update in a datamine. Namely, several new Pokemon, some changes to Eggs, and an Evolution addition that suggests yet another new Pokemon. Dataminers found data pertaining to Cursola, Shadow Cursola, and Purified Cursola, suggesting that Galarian Corsola and its evolution, Cursola, will likely be entering the fray (and possibly as Team GO Rocket's Pokemon, too). Moreover, data for Galarian Slowking was found, which suggests that Galarian Slowbro and Slowking may be arriving soon as well.

A new Evolution mechanic labeled "OnlyUpsideDown" was also found, which has led fans to speculate that Inkay and Malamar may be introduced as well. These squid-like Dark/Psychic Pokemon normally evolve by leveling up past Level 38 while the player holds their physical video game console upside down. Aside from these new Pokemon, the update will also make some quality of life adjustments to the game's Egg system.

It seems that players may be able to see what's inside an Egg, or at least have an idea of possible hatches. Furthermore, Egg hatches will be assigned a color-coded rarity, giving players a better idea of which Eggs may be worth investing time and effort into. And on top of these Egg changes, dataminers also unearthed an interesting new findable item labeled "RingMaterial." This could very well suggest the addition of new "catch rings," if not perhaps gifts for Trainers to give their most loved PokeFriends.

Pokemon GO is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
