Community Days are one of the most anticipated events of the month for fans of Pokemon GO, with each month's special day highlighting a different Pokemon. Alongside increased spawn rates for fan-favorite Pokemon and buffs for XP Boosts and Incense, the monthly Community Day also features increased spawns for the promo Pokemon's shiny variant. The first event of 2022 starred Gen 1's Grass starter Bulbasaur, and now, Niantic has revealed a fellow Grass-type from the Johto region will take the spotlight for the coming month.

Pokemon's Johto region has been a hot topic recently for Pokemon GO, as Niantic announced 2022's Pokemon GO Tour will highlight the region, which was introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver. The event, a follow-up to last year's focusing on the inaugural Pokemon games, will feature increased encounter rates and shiny rates for several popular creatures from the long-running series' second generation and encourage trading between players for exclusive Pokemon based on which version a player chooses. Coinciding with the upcoming event, Pokemon GO has officially revealed Hoppip as February's Community Day Pokemon.

The February edition of Pokemon GO's Community Day will be held on Saturday, February 12 from 11 AM to 5 PM local time and will see Hoppip spawning at increased rates with a higher chance to find a shiny Hoppip. Much like other Community Days, Hoppips that evolve all the way to Jumpluff during the event will learn a special Community Day-exclusive Charged Attack, the Flying-type Acrobatics. Players will also be able to purchase a Special Research mission titled "A Hop, Skip, and Jump Away" for $1 USD, granting a variety of bonus rewards.

The event will also feature the standard 3x experience bonus to Stardust for captures and Lure Modules and Incense duration being increased to three hours. Players short on Poke Balls will also be able to pick up a free one-time bundle containing 30 Ultra Balls to use during the festivities, as well as a Community Day bundle packed with Ultra Balls, Super Incubators, Star Pieces, and a TM for 1280 PokeCoins.

The announcement of February's spotlight Pokemon comes as Pokémon GO moves into the second half of its recent Power Plant event, with the second half starring the return of Team GO Rocket and new challenges for players from the team's three admins Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo. Between the ongoing event, this year's Pokemon GO Tour coming at the end of next month, and the reveal of the monthly Community Day Pokemon, Pokemon GO has plenty on the horizon to encourage fans to go out and catch more Pokemon.
