Community Day is a fan-favorite Pokemon GO monthly event that sees the spawn increase of a certain pokemon, with starters being one of the main focuses of the event. The next Pokemon GO Community Day event features Chikorita and is set to take place on September 22, 2018, from 10 am to 1 pm GMT and 2 pm to 5 pm EST. Traditionally, when the Pokemon evolves into its final form, it learns a special exclusive move, and Niantic has recently revealed what move Meganium learns.

Like Venusaur before it, Meganium evolved during this special event will learn Frenzy Plant, an exclusive Community day Grass-Type move. While many are likely to appreciate the return of this special starter move, it does not do much for Meganium, as its meta relevancy doesn't really change with the addition of this move.

Because of its stats, Venusaur became one of the game's best Grass-Type attackers with Frenzy Plant, but Meganium is already considered one of the weakest starter Pokemon in the game. Concerning the meta-game, Meganium ranks between Tangela and Sunflora with Frenzy Plant factored. Nevertheless, check out the official announcement below:

Those upset about the lack of a unique, empowering move for Meganium may be relieved that Meganium's event suggests a return to the previously established pattern. If followed, that means Cyndaquill will receive a Community Day in November and Totodile in January 2019. Hopefully, by that time, Gen 4 will available in the game as well, giving players plenty to look forward to this fall-winter.

Nevertheless, the event offers a number of other viable benefits such as triple experience for all Pokemon caught during the event and gives players a chance to find a shiny Chikorita, which isn't currently one of the shiny pokemon available in the game. With this event looming on the horizon, what do you think of Chikorita's Community Day, Ranters?

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
