Without a doubt, Pokemon GO fans have a lot of events to keep track of in July 2018, as Niantic continues to provide a sumptuous amount of post-launch support for the wildly popular mobile augmented reality title. It seems as if this month will not only have its fair share of events to keep in mind, but also the developer seems intent to incorporate a brand new Mythical creature, with Celebi potentially joining the fold in the near future.

This much as been revealed thanks to a recent datamine by way of the Redditor and Pokemon GO devotee known as "Chrales", with the find indicating that Niantic had added code to the game's network traffic, and that Celebi will be released during this month's Pokemon GO Fest 2018 event in Chicago. With this being the case, fans will need to keep an eye out after July 14 for the Mythical creature's appearance in the wild.

According to the code found in Pokemon GO, those who happen to be attending this year's festival for the ARG will assist Professor Willow by solving some type of bizarre geological sensation taking place at Lincoln Park. After catching some Pokemon, Willow will then decide that the best course of action for players to take in order to restore the park back to its original state is to use Celebi's time travel abilities.

Taking the information from the datamine into consideration, it seems as if this storyline is only going to be for players who attend Pokemon GO Fest 2018, and not the community as a whole. However, with Niantic having yet to even publicly acknowledge any of these details, it's difficult to determine whether or not this will be the case. Should that occur, though, there's a good chance that the developer would release a second Celebi quest at the end of the summer once the live events are finished.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
