In an attempt to protect trainers from accidentally trashing Pokemon that they meant to keep, Niantic has made it a little harder to Transfer event, shiny, and extra rare creautres in Pokemon GO. Along with those safeguards come some restrictions on whether Mythical Pokemon can be transferred at all.

Due to the desire to have some extra candy, and limited inventory space, some players are already concerned about hanging onto Mythical Pokemon that use up inventory space, but don't hold much value in the current Pokemon GO metagame. Luckily, it sounds like that won't be an issue with the upcoming release of Deoxys EX Raids.

Here's a look at the interaction on Twitter where Niantic Support confirms that Deoxys can in fact be transferred...

The main different here between Deoxys and the other Pokemon GO Mythical creature(s) is that Deoxys can be acquired multiple times and Mew can only be acquired once through the Mythical Discovery quest line. Many players end up doing dozens of EX Raids, so obviously it wouldn't be feasible to force them to keep every Deoxys that they catch.

So far, Niantic hasn't responded to questions about whether or not Deoxys would be tradable. Hopefully we'll have an answer to that question soon. The ability to trade would give another opportunity to stock up on Deoxys Candy without burning through Rare Candy quite as quickly.

Until then, good luck out there, trainers.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
