Pokemon GO is now entering its fifth year as the game gains steam with new events. The ARGP mobile game is entering into the new year in the midst of the Season of Heritage, and it's just announced a blast from the past. This January, Pokemon GO players will be treated to a Community Day Classic that brings back Bulbasaur Community Day.

Bulbasaur is known as the Seed Pokemon, and it's one of the three Kanto starter Pokemon. This little Grass/Poison-type Pokemon looks a bit like a cross between a frog, a lizard, a cat, and a plant. As it evolves, the bud on its back slowly blooms into a flower.

Fans of Bulbasaur may be aware that Bulbasaur starred in the third Pokemon GO Community Day event, which appears to have been so well received that Niantic has decided to bring it back for an encore. The Community Day Classic: Back to Bulbasaur event will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During this time, it will be easier to encounter Bulbasaur in the wild. This will give players the chance to collect as many Bulbasaurs as possible and hunt down the elusive shiny Bulbasaur and 100% IV Bulbasaur, if players are so inclined.

Players who evolve a Bulbasaur during the event or up to two hours after it ends will receive an Ivysaur that knows Charged Attack Frenzy Plant. This Grass-type attack has 100 Power in both Trainer and Gym battles. The event will also offer an exclusive Special Research story, Community Day Special Research Story: Bulbasaur Community Day Classic, which will be available for US$1.00 or the equivalent pricing tier. Tickets for this Special Research story will go live in the near future and will be non-refundable, so fans should make sure they really want one before purchasing.

During the event, players will be able to take advantage of bonuses including three times the catch XP and Lure Modules and Incense having their effects extended to three hours. Players may also wish to take snapshots during the Community Day event for a surprise. There will also be 30 Ultra Balls available in the store at no cost. If this isn't enough for some players, they can also take advantage of the special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins. The package contains 50 Ultra Balls, five Lucky Eggs, five Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS devices.
