Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl will be released soon for the Nintendo Switch with Pokemon GO currently hosting a celebratory event. This event is mainly focused on Pokemon from the Sinnoh region and is split into two different parts for the two different games.
At this time, Pokemon GO is holding the Brilliant Diamond portion of the event. It has its own set of Pokemon with increased spawn rates and raid bosses. Players are additionally able to access event-exclusive field research tasks in order to get special Pokemon encounters.
This event will be running from Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00 AM to Thursday, November 18 at 10:00 AM in players' local times. If players obtain one of the event-exclusive field research tasks but do not complete it before the event's completion, they will still be able to finish the field research task and claim its reward.
There are six total field research tasks for the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond event for Pokemon GO. They can be gotten by any player with a free slot in their field research task list by spinning any PokeStop during the event's active times. These field research tasks are:

It is important to note that the only way to get the Dawn's Hat versions of the Sinnoh starter Pokemon at this time is through the field research task rewards. The Sinnoh starters currently being found in the wild can only be found wearing Lucas's hat. This will switch up once the Shining Pearl portion of the event begins on Thursday. None of the Sinnoh starters wearing hats are able to evolve.
In a similar matter to the starters, the Sandy Cloak and Trash Cloak forms of Burmy can only be obtained through completing these field research tasks at this time. The only Burmy form with boosted spawn rates through the event right now is the Plant Cloak form of Burmy. These different forms affect what type of Wormadam they will evolve into if they are female. Male Burmy are unaffected by what type of cloak they have when they eventually evolve into Mothim.
