Pokemon GO trainers have had a very busy April so far as the Season of Alola continues into its second month. Last month brought a ton of exciting new debuts to the mobile AR game and action isn't slowing down this month. As the April 2022 calendar of events continues players are going to get a chance to have a new Legendary Battle Raid encounter to test their skills.

From April 12 through April 26 the Alola region's Tapu Bulu will be visiting Tier 5 Battle Raids and offering players a new challenge. As always, Legendary Battle Raids can be pretty tough, which means that Pokemon GO trainers are going to need to team up with some allies for the big fight and do a bit of research ahead of time to prepare a respectable counter roster for the battle.

Tapu Bulu is a Grass- and Fairy-type, which means that it has a pretty lengthy list of weaknesses for trainers to take advantage of. The most important strategy will be to exploit Tapu Bulu's 2x weakness to Poison. In addition to that, players can also fall back on Fire, Flying, Ice, and Steel counters to help put up a fight during the battle.

Mega Beedrill (Pokemon)

Best Tapu Bulu Counters

Beedrill (Mega) - Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb

Gengar (Mega) - Shadow Claw/Sludge Bomb

Charizard (Mega Y) - Fire Spin/Blast Burn

Roserade - Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb

Pidgeot (Mega) - Gust/Brave Bird

Charizard (Mega X) - Fire Spin/Blast Burn

Venusaur (Mega) - Vine Whip/Sludge Bomb

Houndoom (Meta) - Fire Fang/Flamethrower

Gengar - Shadow Claw/Sludge Bomb

Toxicroak - Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb

Victreebel - Acid/Sludge Bomb

Scolipede - Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb

That list includes a lot of Mega recommendations, but don't panic if that's not an option. The strongest Poison-types on any players' collection could be enough to get the job done as long as they invest the right resources into the team and head into the fight with a respectable number of allies. For this particular fight, it would be wise to enter the lobby with at least six total players who are all bringing some strong, strategy counter rosters to the table. Be sure to take a moment to consider spending some TMs, Candy, and Stardust to get the final team ready before heading into the battle, as well.

Over the next week or so players should begin to learn a lot more about what other events are on the way during the coming days of the Season of Alola. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
