The cycle of raid bosses in Pokemon GO has changed around once more with new Pokemon available to fight and capture. For the current event, there are three different Pokemon that can be found as tier three raid bosses. These Pokemon are Gengar, Snorlax, and Galarian Stunfisk.

While there are definitely some Pokemon GO players that can take down tier three raid bosses by themselves, having other players to help with the raid is highly recommended for most. This is especially true with the fight against Snorlax due to this Pokemon only having one weakness.

Snorlax is a pure Normal-type Pokemon, making it only weak to Fighting-type moves. It additionally only resists damage from Ghost-type moves, meaning that all other move types deal neutral damage. Its moveset meanwhile expands past Normal-type moves with it possibly knowing moves such as Lick or Zen Headbutt as fast moves.

While Snorlax knowing Zen Headbutt has the possibility to put Fighting-type Pokemon at greater risk, Fighting-type Pokemon will help take Snorlax down at the fastest possible rate. Of course, the more players participating, the faster the raid battle will go. If possible, it is recommended to communicate with other players participating in the raid before the battle so that everyone is using the best Pokemon for the job.

There are luckily many different Fighting-type Pokemon that players can catch and raise for the fight against Snorlax or any other powerful Normal-type Pokemon. The best ones that players could use in the battle are:

Lucario - Counter and Aura Sphere

Conkeldurr - Counter and Dynamic Punch

Breloom - Counter and Dynamic Punch

Machamp - Counter and Dynamic Punch

Blaziken - Counter and Focus Blast

Capturing Snorlax

After the battle, players will be able to attempt capturing Snorlax. Its capture is not guaranteed just by participating in the raid, so players are recommended to use Razz Berries or other helpful items to increase the odds of capture. Players however will not be able to use PokeBalls other than the Premiere Balls given as rewards for the raid battle's completion.

Once Snorlax is captured it will retain its pure Normal-type, its type weakness, and type resistance. It has a large variety of moves that it can learn naturally with TMs allowing players to see more of them. The best fast move for Snorlax to learn is Lick with its best charge move being Hyper Beam.
