After a very exciting, and possibly exhausting, long Community Day weekend, Pokemon GO players barely have a chance to catch their breath before the next events start firing off in the mobile AR game. This week players will be able to keep busy with a series of bonuses and special opportunities as part of the Secrets of the Jungle event and, once the weekend arrives, another Legendary special guest will be joining the Battle Raid rotation.

This month features three special weekends of Battle Raids, with the Regi-trio each appearing for a short two-day window to join Kyurem in the 5-star Battle Raid tier. Now that Regirock's weekend has come to a close, it's time for players to start preparing for the arrival of Registeel before December 19 arrives and brings the popular Pokemon GO Legendary back into the rotation.

Registeel is a pretty useful Pokemon in the PvP and PvE metagame, which means that many players will likely be glad to see this third of the trio reappear this weekend. As its name suggests, Registeel is a pure Steel-type, which means that players should focus exploiting its weakness to Fire-types for this battle. Registeel can take a lot of hits, so most players are going to want to stick to slightly larger groups, of at least five or six trainers, to ensure that they don't waste any Raid Passes on failed attempts when it comes to these battles...

Best Registeel Counters

Charizard (Mega Y) - Fire Spin and Blast Burn

Reshiram - Fire Fang and Overheat

Chandelure - Fire Spin and Overheat

Charizard (Mega X) - Fire Spin and Blast Burn

Volcarona - Fire Spin and Overheat

Gengar (Mega) - Shadow Claw and Focus Blast

Darmanitan (Zen) - Fire Fang and Overheat

Moltres - Fire Spin and Overheat

Landorus (Therian) - Mud Shot and Earth Power

Houndoom (Mega) - Fire Fang and Flamethrower

Darmanitan (Standard) - Fire Fang and Overheat

Entei - Fire Fang and Overheat

Although many trainers likely battled Registeel in the past, the addition of a few new evolutions and the Mega Evolution feature definitely make revisiting and optimizing counter rosters a worthwhile effort. Players who have the Mega Charizard Candy to spare likely won't regret burning through some of those resources on these fights considering the strength that option is going to bring to the table.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the early days of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
