As the years have gone by, Pokemon GO has been slowly adding new regions and Pokemon to the game in order to keep things fresh for fans. Not too long ago, the Kalos region was introduced in Pokemon GO, and Talonflame was one of the first few Pokemon to join the game from that region.

At first, Talonflame was overlooked by many users due to its fairly average moveset. However, ever since the Pokemon GO March 2021 Fletchling Community Day, Niantic has added some new attacks for Talonflame and increased its usefulness.

Talonflame is a strong Flying and Fire-type Pokemon that is weak to Electric, Rock, and Water-type moves, but it is resistant against a long list of types, including Bug, Grass, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Steel. It has a max CP of 2,205, an ATTK of 145, a DEF of 110, and a STA of 158. For Pokemon GO fans wondering how to fit Talonflame into their ranks, here are some of the best moves for it.

Fast Moves

With the update, the move "Incinerate" was added by Niantic to Talonflame's roster of possible attacks. Incinerate is a Fire-type move that deals 15 damage and costs about four energy, equating to three damage per turn. In relation to Talonflame's other fast moves, Fire Spin and Steel Wing, those moves only deal about nine and seven damage per turn and cost about three energy, respectively.

Charge Moves

For the Charge moves, either Brave Bird or Flame Charge are both viable options. Brave Bird is a flying type move that deals 130 damage and costs only 55 energy. Unfortunately, it gives a 100% chance to lower the user's defense by three ranks. Flame Charge is a fire-type move that can do 65 damage and costs 50 energy. Flame Charge also has a 100% chance to increase the user's attack by one rank.

Talon Flame's other two moves, Fire Blast and Hurricane, are not recommended for different reasons. While Fire Blast does make an incredible 140 points of damage, it is not worth the 80 energy points it costs to use. Additionally, other trainers can also quickly block the attack, rendering it almost pointless. Hurricane also has negative effects that come with it and falls short when comparing it to Brave Bird.

At the end of the day, Talonflame may not be top of the charts, but it is slowly evolving into a much better Pokemon than when it was initially released. Hopefully, this guide helps give Pokemon GO trainers a good idea of how to structure Talonflame within their team.
