There's a full schedule of events for players to enjoy in Pokemon GO this September. While the game still doesn't have all Pokemon in the sprawling franchise, more evolutions and types are regularly being added. One of the rarest type combinations is Steel/Psychic, which only 3 Pokemon in the game have, not counting their evolutions.

The most common of these three is Beldum, the Iron Ball Pokemon. Originally from the Hoenn region, Beldum is a Pokemon that communicates through magnetic blasts and has two evolutions. It was introduced to Pokemon GO back in February 2018, and there are several different ways for players to catch one.

Catching or Hatching a Beldum in Pokemon GO

The simplest way to catch a Beldum in Pokemon GO is to encounter one in the Wild. As an added bonus, Wild Beldum have the highest potential CP when caught. There have been a few different events that have increased Beldum's spawn rate, but the most recent one ended on August 3rd. Despite this, there's still a good chance of players randomly encountering a Beldum while out exploring.

The second most common way to acquire a Beldum is through hatching a Pokemon GO Egg. Any kind of Egg has a chance of containing a Beldum, though players should make sure to check if there are any special events that may alter their chances. Currently, there is no event that will increase the likelihood of finding a Beldum in an Egg.

Finding a Beldum through Raids, Research, and the Battle League

Besides Wild encounters and Eggs, there are three other ways to find a Beldum. The Iron Ball Pokemon is a regular Tier 1 Boss in Pokemon GO's Raid Battles, but its evolution Metagross was recently featured as a Tier 3 Boss during the Psychic Spectacular event. Gaining a Beldum from a Raid Battle simply requires players to defeat and then capture it.

Beldum also has a chance to appear as a reward encounter for completing a few different Field Research Tasks. Specifically, the Hatch an Egg, Hatch 2 Eggs, and Win a Raid Tasks all give players a chance of encountering a low CP Beldum after completion. Finally, it was also possible to obtain a Beldum at Rank 4 in the GO Battle League during Season 1 and Season 2. While this is no longer an option, Beldum may be added back into the League as a reward in the future.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.
